Delta by Price Indicator

I was curious as to when this indicator will be uploade? Thanks Alexander.

The Web Preview for this indicator has been released, see the link below. Future updates will be announced here. Currently on the roadmap are standalone-compatible releases and the addition of user-parameterized delta resolutions.

I was just wondering something about the indicator. I was watching the ES being Lifted on the offer and the indicator started showing a negative or red value. When the market is aggressively buying on the offer, its green. Hitting the bid should make the delta at the price level red. At least that’s how it works in my mind. Just curious. And just trying to help. Thanks

For whatever reason my share didn’t release the most recent code - I released an update just now, please go to your installed indicators and press the update button.

Same here, indicator is not showing up on the chart.

Hi @jake, @sethmo, @Atlas,

You need to zoom in pretty far to see the bars for now. I’m working on a version that combines price intervals when you’re zoomed out further so that you can get an idea of what’s happening on the per-price level from a distance. I realize that on charts like NQ it’s fairly difficult to use above 5m bar intervals, but this will be resolved before the indicator leaves its preview state.

Added an update that adds Price Levels Per Bar parameter - this allows the user to choose how many bars to combine when you zoom away from the 1price:1bar level. This should be helpful for contracts like NQ with large price ranges.

Remember to go to your installed community indicators and press Update!

Edit: The default value is 1, meaning nothing will be displayed on zoom-out. Set it to anything above 1 to get combined bars on zoom out.

So I’ve done the update and when I add the indicator nothing comes up still. Has anyone else had any luck?

ive got mine looking pretty good. I dont know what you are trading…but on ES and NQ i have the “price levels per bar” setting set to 4, and ive also set the “scale factor” to 100…hopefully that helps

As @Rocky mentioned, check this parameter under the indicator config:

This is amazing! Thank you all for creating this!

Off-Topic, can we get a “Ticks per level” setting added to the Bid Ask charts next?

Released yet another update, added labels to the aggregate bars. Now you can see text values for each aggregated delta over the price levels that a bar combines.

I don’t think that’s a thing (yet), but one lesser known fact about Bid Ask charts is that you can set them to display data differently. Double click a bar to bring up chart editor options. There is a drop down that will allow you to choose from Bid Ask Volume, Delta and Imbalance. Additional options will appear based on what you choose.

I’ve changed the settings to what has been recommended but can’t get it right. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That’s pretty weird! Please ensure that you’ve gone to Community Indicators → Installed then find the Price Axis Volume Delta indicator and click the Update button. If that doesn’t work, please tell me what your chart settings are and I’ll try to figure it out. I just ran through a bunch of settings trying to break it, but it seemed to work for me no matter what chart type or unit type I chose.

Well looks like I’m wrong, in the production environment it seems to be broken for Heiken Aishi bars. Not sure why that is yet, but I’ll open a ticket and give you guys some updates. For now I’ll make a note that this won’t work with Heiken Aishi or Renko bars.

OK so just to clarify on this situation - Renko and Heiken Aishi charts use synthetically determined price ranges that do not match 1:1 with tick size. Because this indicator relies on the uniformity of candlestick/bar/bid-ask price ranges matching up nicely with tick size, this indicator unfortunately will not work with Renko or Heiken Aishi bars. The volume profiles produced from these chart types simply aren’t compatible.
