Hi Unlimitidities, what are you using for your Asia and London times? From what I am familiar with from my research, Asia is supposed to be 8pm EST to 12midninght and London is 2am EST to 5am EST. The code is not available and can’t see and edit. Is it possible to either provide the code or make another version with the mentioned times? Thanks
Apologies for the incredibly delayed response @Dennis_DeGuzman. I’ll be more active in here from now on but the discord is where I’m mainly at (for quick access). Information like this is also found in the discord’s indicator forums and in more detail too since I can update it as changes or updates are made. (Specifically for this indicator the info is in the SVP forum since these both have ALNY in there but I’ll answer in here too.)
When you turn the debug toggle on it shows the session boundaries btw. Right now this is how the sessions are set up. Keep in mind this is primarily for ES & NQ futures session type framing.
Asia: 3:00 PM–12:00 AM PT // (6:00 PM–3:00 AM ET)
Starting directly at CME daily open. The way I’ve put it here is by bucketing the low liquidity period into the Asian session dominant trading period (Tokyo if going by TSE → 7pm EST / 8pm EDT – 1:30am EST / 2:30am EDT) some people like to go by the BabyPips forex trading hours which is just 2.5 hours longer than TSE.
I only extended the Asian session window to 3:00am ET to capture the broader Asia to London session liquidity thickening.
London: 12:00 AM–6:30 AM PT // (3:00 AM–9:30 AM ET)
This is when overnight volume rises as London (LSE) cash session opens. I have it end at NY market open because these sessions are still active during this time and overlap into NY trading hours. You can observe the impact directly through a footprint or just a simple volume indicator.
New York: 6:30 AM–2:00 PM PT // (9:30 AM–5:00 PM ET)
Closes at 5PM ET to include the last hour of the CME daily session even though NY Cash closes at 4PM ET.
Note: The US changes clocks to → DST on the 2nd Sunday in March and back to standard time on the 1st Sunday in November meanwhile the UK changes clocks into → BST (British Summer Time) on the last Sunday in March and back to → GMT on the last Sunday in October.
This causes a US/UK DST mismatch (London opens 1 hour later relative to PT/ET) (4:00 AM EDT) from the 2nd Sunday in March to the last Sunday in March and (4:00 AM EDT) from the last Sunday in October to the 1st Sunday in November.
This indicator does not yet account for this but will do so in the next update.
