There is a new Thread requesting this feature, posting over there and adding your Vote might help them finally get to it. [Breakeven - ticks](https://community.tradovate.com/t/breakeven-ticks/1013)

But the reason the the negative number works for me might be just an exploit on the Mac desktop version of the Tradovate trader app.
